Mathilde Ludendorff used the bible to promote rebellion against the Jews.  Jacob (representing the Jews) stole the birthright of Israel away from Esau (non-Jews), but Esau was blessed with the fact that he would throw off the yoke of Jacob.  However, Ludendorff said this throwing off of the yoke would only happen once the Jews gained world domination, which she said they achieved in 1948 with the establishment of Israel and through their world control via the United Nations and the United States.  She told orthodox Jews that she was only doing what their god commanded by resisting them.  However, unfortunately, Mathilde Ludendorff said that once the yoke of world Jewry was thrown off by the Gentiles that they would live in peace with the Jews... not a good prognostication for a Nordic prophetess. While much of Ludendorff's work is useful, it is not perfect.  However, using the blessing of Esau against the Jews is a clever move. Modern Ludendorff followers try to remind governments in Europe that protecting Jews is not their only duty, but also to help non-Jews resist Jewish control in society.

Background and significance of the Esausegen

The Esausegen is a story from the Bible. Jacob, who, according to the Jewish view, stands for the Jews, has obtained the firstborn blessing from his father Isaac by means of a ruse. However, his older brother Esau, who symbolizes the Gentiles, also received a blessing from his father, the Esausegen. It can be the basis for peaceful coexistence between Jews and non-Jews.

Esau and Isaac

Erich Ludendorff called the Esausegen "the open gate" in order to secure the freedom of his own people and the defense against their expropriation without any use of force. [1] He often complained "that the comrades-in-arms were either not at all or at least very difficult to convince of the great importance of this 'open door'!" [2] Mathilde Ludendorff says of the Esausegen: "Never before have all those who know been given such a high opportunity to prevent disaster. Never before has there been such a high level of responsibility on everyone." [3] These emphatic words of both Ludendorffs should be reason enough to deal with the subject. We would therefore like to compile the most important information about Esausegen at this point.

What is it about?

The Esausegen is a story from the Jewish faith, as it can be found in the Torah[4]. In Genesis, 27[5], under the heading "Jacob wins the blessing of the firstborn by cunning", it is described how Jacob, at the suggestion of his mother Rebecca, receives the firstborn blessing from his blind father Isaac through fraud, which actually belongs to his older brother Esau. This firstborn blessing, usually referred to as the "Jacob's blessing," reads as follows:

Genesis 27, 29: "Nations shall serve you, and tribes shall fall at your feet. Be a lord over your brothers, and your mother's sons shall fall at your feet. Cursed be he who curses you; Blessed is he who blesses you!"

Isaac blesses Jacob

When Esau discovers the deception, he asks his father to bless him as well:

Genesis 27: "38 Esau said to his father, 'Have you any blessing, my father? Bless me too, my Father! and lifted up his voice and wept. 39 Then Isaac his father answered and said to him, "Behold, you will have a dwelling place without the fatness of the earth, and without the dew of the heavens from above."

Then follows the decisive statement about the Esausegen:

"40 By your sword you will feed and serve your brother. And it shall come to pass that thou shalt also be a lord, and shall tear his yoke from thy neck." [6]

Isaac is not just any random person in the Bible, but a central figure of the Jewish faith. In the Torah, he is one of the three patriarchs of Israel, along with his father Abraham and his son Jacob. [7] Genesis:22 tells how God, in order to test Abraham's faithfulness to God, asks him to sacrifice his son Isaac. At the last moment, an angel of God prevents the deed. So God saves Isaac's life.

Believing Jews must keep all the commandments of their God

According to the Bible, Jews who obey God's commandments will be rewarded. If they don't, they will be cursed:

In Deuteronomy 28 ("Announcement of blessing and curse"), verses 1 to 14 describe how the one who adheres to the requirements of the Jewish God will be rewarded. For example, in verses 1 to 4: "1 And if you will obey the voice of the LORD your God, that you keep and do all his commandments, which I command you today, the LORD your God will make you supreme over all the peoples of the earth, 2 and all these blessings will come upon you, and they will come upon you, because you have been obedient to the voice of the Lord your God. 3 Blessed will you be in the city, blessed in the field. 4 Blessed will be the fruit of your womb, the fruit of your land, and the fruit of your cattle, the fruit of your oxen, and the fruit of your sheep."

The disobedient Jew, on the other hand, is threatened with severe punishments, e.g.: "15 But if you do not obey the voice of the LORD your God, that you keep and do all his commandments and statutes, which I command you today, all curses will come upon you and come upon you. 16 You will be cursed in the city, cursed in the field. 17 Cursed will be your basket and your baking trough. 18 Cursed will be the fruit of your womb, the fruit of your land, the fruit of your oxen, and the fruit of your sheep."

It is therefore imperative for believing Jews to abide by all the instructions of their God in order not to suffer such a fate.

The Political Significance of the Esausegen

The point of the story is that Jacob stands for the Jewish people and Esau for the Gentiles. This interpretation is supported by the following sources, for example:

Genesis 25: Esau and Jacob are different peoples: "23 And the LORD said to her,[8] Two nations are in your body, and two people will separate from your body; and one nation will be superior to another, and the elder will serve the younger. 24 And when the time came for her to give birth, behold, there were twins in her womb. 25 The first one that came out was reddish, as rough as a skin; and they called him Esau. 26 Then his brother came out, holding Esau's heel with his hand. and they called him Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when they were born."

Genesis 32: Jacob is equated with Israel: "Jacob receives the name of Israel. 28 He said, "What is your name?" He answered, "Jacob." 29 He said, "You shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have fought with God and with men, and you are incumbent."

Genesis 35: Out of Jacob's sons came the 12 tribes of Israel. "23 The sons of Leah were these: Reuben the firstborn son of Jacob, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Jeshachar, and Zebulun; 24 Rachel's sons were Joseph and Benjamin; 25 The sons of Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant, Dan and Naphthali; 26 The sons of Silpah, Leah's servant, Gad and Asher. These are the sons of Jacob, who were born to him in Mesopotamia."

Genesis 36: Esau is also called Edom and is the progenitor of the Edomites, a non-Jewish people: "8 So Esau dwelt on Mount Seir. And Esau is Edom. 9 This is the family of Esau, from which the Edomites come, on Mount Seir."

A rabbinical sermon published in the New York Times on November 23, 1952. The article reads: "Parallel applied to divided World. Rabbi Tedesche likens Story of Jacob and Esau to Our conflict with Totalitarians"[9]

The rabbi said, among other things: "We prefer to think of Jacob and Esau not as individuals, but as nations or peoples and their history, not as brother against brother, but as a parable that shows the struggle between good and bad forces and the final triumph of peace over war. [...] Secondly, it is the struggle that is supposed to unfold the strength of the character, so that he can face disappointments and failures, but still does not compromise. This is the spirit that the Hebrews show when they fight their enemies, although they may have lost battles, but their spirit remained unconquered."

Former evangelical pastor Rod Reuven Bryant, who "left Christianity a few years ago in favor of Torah Judaism"[10], says, relying on Rabbi Mendel Kessin and the eminent medieval rabbis Rashi (~1040-1105) and Maimonides (~1135-1204)[11]: "And you will ask yourselves, why is Edom, why are the Edomites the West? How can this be transferred? [12] There are no literal descendants of Edom in the West. There is a classification into two different nations. Do you understand that? When we speak of nations, we speak of the one nation, which is the Jewish nation and the other nation, which is the Gentile world." Even though Edom/Esau in the time of Rashi and Maimonides were related to Christian Rome, Bryant continues: "The text has lost none of its significance to this day, and even after the establishment of the State of Israel, the history of these two nations has not changed. There have always been these wars and hostilities between these two nations. Edom or Esau and Judah or Israel and the Jewish people. [...] They put it in such a way that the West is an evolution of nations. So we're talking about two nations. We are not talking about nations like England, France or Russia, we are talking about the whole Gentile world as one nation."

So there is a very tense relationship between the people of the Edomites (with Esau as their progenitor) on the one hand and the people of Judah/Israel on the other. [13]

Conditions for the effectiveness of the Esausegen

The wording of the Esausegen includes the following requirements:

The world domination of the Jews must be fulfilled (for it means first of all: "to serve your brother")

Esau must rouse himself and tear the yoke of Jacob from his own neck (for it is said: "that thou mayest ... you will tear his yoke from your neck." Neither Jacob nor anyone else will do that for him!

Esau, having torn the yoke of Jacob from his neck, must not turn the tables and now reign over Jacob himself (for it is said: "And it shall come to pass that thou shalt also be a lord, and shall tear his yoke from thy neck.") The non-Jews must therefore not overshoot the mark in the struggle for their freedom, as Mathilde Ludendorff never tired of emphasizing: "Only the struggle here will lead to the goal, which must appear to the Orthodox Jews in particular as a struggle promised by their God Yahweh himself, a struggle for the freedom of all non-Jewish peoples, which never overshoots the mark, which is never anything other than the shaking off of Jacob's yoke from the neck, realized in solemn morality, and the desire of all nations to be masters themselves." [14]

If these conditions are met, then according to the Jewish faith, a peaceful and equal coexistence between Jews and non-Jews is possible on the basis of the Esausegen.

The question arises as to whether the precondition of "world domination of the Jews" is met? Mathilde Ludendorff, in a letter published in the "Quell. Journal for Freedom of Thought" under the heading "Once again the Esau Blessing" [15], several reasons that speak for the fact that the promised Messianic kingdom has existed since May 14, 1948, i.e. the founding day of Israel:

"The main thing is that the United Nations has recognized the great Jewish umbrella organization of all Judaism, the 'World Jewish Congress' founded in 1936." [16]

The flag of the United Nations closely resembles the flag of Israel (not the flag, but the coat of arms of Israel). In this way, "the 'United Nations' is publicly identified as the peoples of the globe subject to Jewish world domination." The construction of the UN building in New York used 40 tons of stone from the Castell quarries near Jerusalem, the place that marked a turning point in the Jews' struggle for independence against the Arabs. [17]

Coat of arms of Israel (left) and flag of the United Nations (right)

Coat of arms of Israel (left) and flag of the United Nations (right)

The Jewish world leadership sees "the USA as the land of its actual world domination, but the land of Israel only as a symbolic sign of this domination."

The intra-Jewish strife, among other things, over the question of whether the Messianic kingdom already exists, could serve to "keep these goijm in doubt, so that they do not make use of their right according to Jewish orthodoxy, namely 'to pull themselves together, to tear the yoke of Jacob from their necks and also to be lord [...]."

Who recognized the importance of Esausegen as a means of liberating the nations?

In the Quell of 9.5.1959 (p. 393f) there appeared an essay by Mathilde Ludendorff with the title "Untouchable Defense", according to which it was General Ludendorff who recognized this possibility. In the essay "The Open Gate" on pp. 1105-1108 in the same series of the source, the philosopher writes in more detail: When the general had read the passage in Genesis, 27, 40, he joyfully banged on the table and said: "There we have it. Now the gate is open, then according to their faith all this is a literal revelation of their God Yahweh, whom they must not act against if they do not want to incur Yahweh's wrath upon themselves."

It would be interesting to know when Erich and Mathilde Ludendorff first mentioned Esausegen in their writings. The oldest reference to this that I know of, albeit only indirectly, comes from Mathilde Ludendorff's 1949 essay "Wo winkt noch Hoffnung"[18], where on p. 9 there is talk of being able to "'pull herself together and shake off her yoke' in order to be 'free' again one day", without this being elaborated on. However, in the above-mentioned essay "The Open Gate" (Quell 1959), she writes in reference to Ludendorff's complaint about the hesitant handling of the comrades-in-arms in the matter of Esausegen, mentioned at the beginning: "So many decades after this conversation [of 1924] I had to try again and again to remind my fellow fighters at home and abroad of the open door [...]." Accordingly, there should be further evidence from the interwar period.

There is, however, a certain contradiction here with the reasons given by Mathilde Ludendorff for the assertion that the Messianic kingdom already existed. The reasons she gives all relate to the period after the Second World War, so the Esausegen would not have been applicable in the period before that. If one were to put it in such a way that the world domination of "Jacob" would be established at the latest with the founding of the State of Israel and the United Nations, then the facts would be consistent.

A Historical Example of the Practical Application of the Esausegen

In the journal "Der Quell. Journal of Freedom of Thought", issue 23, 1952, pp. 1074-1076, a letter from Mathilde Ludendorff dated 28.8.1952 to the magazine "Der Weg" (Buenos Aires) was published, in which, among other things, the following incident is described[19]: After the collapse of the Third Reich, Mathilde Ludendorff was repeatedly interrogated "by all kinds of sections of democracy in the USA, while the Security Police were sometimes at the door by car" To dispose of them if necessary. " So once came a man whose hatred of me was just sparkling out of his eyes and who hoped to be able to frighten me with the help of a very strong vocal effort." She answered: "'If I am not very much mistaken, they are Jews. And I'll bet you're an Orthodox Jew, so I don't understand why you're doing this to me! You know as well as I do that Isaac, who was protected from sacrificial death by their God Yahweh Himself, is as authoritative and inviolable in all his words as God Himself.' "You also know that his son Jacob, who by a ruse obtained the blessing of Esau, means the Jewish people. The blessing which promises Jacob the dew of heaven, the richness of the earth, corn and wine in abundance, and promises him that the nations must serve him and fall at his feet, is greeted with joy by all Orthodox Jews and eagerly brought to fulfillment. Never will any orthodox Jew, and therefore you yourselves, ever forget this blessing of Yahweh through Isaac, which promises world domination!' Hatred and resentment have disappeared from the face, and the tension of what is now being said is on the features. "But all Orthodox Jews, including you, like to forget in this hour the second blessing that Yahweh is now giving to Esau through the mouth of Isaac, after he has recognized the ruse. Esau is all Gentile people, you know that!'"

She now quotes the Esausegen and then continues: "And now you come as an Orthodox Jew and dare to threaten me and hold out the prospect of punishment for what I have spoken and written? My husband and I have never written or spoken a word on the Jewish question that would have been anything other than the shaking off of Jacob's yoke from our necks, with the aim of also being master. Who, then, is fulfilling Yahweh's promise through Isaac? Well, I think so, Esau in the form of my deceased husband and I! And who dares to go against their God Yahweh?' The face opposite me is white. The Jew rises, speaks the words 'Thank you very much' with a trembling voice, bows and leaves the room walking backwards."

Later, Mathilde Ludendorff published this text under the heading "Two Lines of the Bible Save the Nations". [20]

In the publications on the Esausegen there is always talk of the "mobilization" of the Esausesgen. This expression has its origins in the "Allgemeine Jüdische Wochenzeitung" of 1.5.1953, in which it was said that Mathilde Ludendorff "would mobilize the Esausegen for us". [21]

Extension of the Esausegen

In addition to the Jews, there are other groups and institutions that rely on the Bible. These include, for example, Christianity, Islam and Freemasonry. They, too, must adhere to the Esausegen if they do not want to incur the wrath of their God.

Yes, this also applies to all state agencies and authorities of the Federal Republic of Germany at the latest since the most important state officials took over the sponsorship of the Sulzbach Torah scroll, as we will see in a moment.

The significance of the sponsorship of the highest state authorities of the Federal Republic of Germany over the Sulzbach Torah Scroll

A Torah scroll

A Torah scroll

January 27 is the official "Day of Remembrance of the Victims of National Socialism" in the Federal Republic of Germany and in 2021 "1700 years of Jewish life" was celebrated in Germany (321–2021). On this double day of remembrance, 27.01.2021, a very special event took place in the Bundestag, about which the "Jüdische Allgemeine" wrote on 22.01.2021 [22]: "The highlight of the ceremony in the Bundestag will be the completion of a restored Torah scroll. Traditionally, the last letters are written – this time by the representatives of the five constitutional bodies and the Jewish community." It continues: "The Torah is doctrine and law, the Word of God and the core of Jewish religion. The completion of the restored scroll not in an internal Jewish ceremony in the synagogue, but in public in the Bundestag, is therefore something special. For the President of the Bundestag, Wolfgang Schäuble, it is both an honour and an obligation, as he says: 'As representatives of all constitutional organs, we are expressing the state's self-commitment to enable and protect Jewish life in Germany with this unusual and unique symbolic act.'"

This Torah scroll from 1793 comes from Sulzbach in the Upper Palatinate and is probably the oldest Torah scroll in southern Germany.

On the official pages of the German Bundestag on the world web it says: "The President of the Jewish Community of Munich and Upper Bavaria, Dr. h. c. Charlotte Knobloch, the Amberg Rabbi Elias Dray and the President of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, Dr. Josef Schuster, were involved in the completion of the Sulzbach Torah Scroll. In addition, the highest representatives of the five constitutional bodies: Federal President Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Bundestag Dr. Wolfgang Schäuble, Federal Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel, President of the Bundesrat Dr. Reiner Haseloff and President of the Federal Constitutional Court Prof. Dr. Stephan Harbarth. This is also a symbolic expression of 'the fact that the obligation to protect Jewish life is a basic condition of our state,' said Bundestag President Schäuble. [23] Elsewhere it adds: "Rabbi Shaul Nekrich, as a sofer (Jewish scribe), completed the last letters of the Torah in the prayer room of the Reichstag building."

In his ceremonial speech, Schäuble spoke, among other things, the following words[24]:

"Today we renew our commitment to German Jewry in a special ceremony. At the end of today's commemoration, the representatives of our state will take over the sponsorship of the restored Torah scroll of the former Jewish community of Sulzbach. A Jewish scribe will complete the last letters of the Torah in the prayer room of the German Bundestag."

"We commit ourselves to protecting Jewish life in Germany from attacks; [...]. At the same time, we are committed to a future in which Jews in Germany live their Jewishness openly, safely and visibly in our midst."

A sponsorship is the (unilateral) assumption of a duty of care (Wikipedia). According to Schäuble, this is linked to the state's obligation to protect Jewish life in Germany and to make it possible to "be Jewish," in other words, to live a life in accordance with the biblical commandments. First of all, this means, in the sense of a one-sided obligation, that all state agencies and authorities must support the blessing of Jacob, i.e. the world domination of the Jews. However, the sponsorship was taken over for the entire Torah and not only for the blessing of Jacob, i.e. all state authorities are obliged to do justice to the non-Jewish peoples in the sense of the Esausegen! They must refrain from anything that endangers the freedom and right of peoples to self-determination, and must do everything possible to ensure that these are guaranteed.

Misunderstandings about the blessing of the meal

On the basis of what has been said, two frequently heard objections to the application of the Esausegen can now be refuted.

The first objection is, "I don't believe in the Bible, so what does Esausegen have to do with me?" The answer: No non-Jew has to believe in the Bible when he appeals to Esausegen. It is crucial that powerful representatives from Judaism and the Christianity, Islam and Freemasonry derived from it must believe in it and adhere to it. The Esausegen refers to a passage in the Bible, but it is a passage with which even people who do not believe in the Bible can agree, because this passage makes it possible for both groups to live together peacefully and on an equal footing.

The second objection is: "Esau was born of a Jewish mother and is therefore a Jew. But I am a non-Jew, so I cannot equate myself with Esau." This objection overlooks the fact that what is at stake here is not an actual biological relationship, but symbolism. Crucially, from the Orthodox Jewish point of view, Esau is to be equated with the Gentiles and Jacob with the Jews.

Concluding remark

It was expressly pointed out in this treatise that the entry into force of the Gospel presupposes that non-Jews may not themselves commit acts of injustice against the Jews in their defensive struggle against the yoke of Jacob. It's all about being free. Since reference has been made several times in this essay to Ludendorff's writings, a reference is nevertheless appropriate at this point to avoid misunderstandings. To this end, we quote from the already mentioned paper "Supranational Powers and Freedom of Peoples" by retired Colonel Walter Leon from 1953 (p. 7):

"Therefore, when we speak, for example, of the 'world power of Judah,' we mean neither the Jewish people, nor the individual Jew as a member of this people or as a racial personality, but only the conscious bearers of the imperialist idea of Judaism, which originates from Jewish doctrine, especially the corresponding leadership. However, not all Jews are by any means the bearers of this idea, but people of other peoples and races can also – consciously or unconsciously – become bearers, e.g. through Freemasonry. And the same applies mutatis mutandis to Catholicism in connection with the world power Rome and to Bosshevism in connection with Moscow." [25]

The value of a person does not depend on his ancestry!

And one last note: The demand to wage a morally clean defensive struggle corresponds to the Esausegen, but it also exists independently of it, because it is necessarily derived from the philosophy of Mathilde Ludendorff.

[24] According to Schäuble, it has been quite common since the 19th century for non-Jewish officials, "from mayors to heads of state", to be godfathers for Torah scrolls.

Has the entire leadership of a state ever taken on such a sponsorship?
